It ties in to your above post about IQ and having the smarts not to be killed doing stupid crap and &lt;i&gt;not being eaten&lt;/i&gt; !



As for being interstellar predators, I don&#039;t think baseline humanity will colonize the stars, but I think a human variant will and a certain amount of &quot;primal&quot; instinct will be kept in, just for an &quot;edge&quot; so to speak.

Great thought Greg. Funnily enough, when I was in the Arctic, I had to carry a large calibre rifle with me when taking field trips. I found it very amusing there were rifle racks inside observatories. Although we were carrying out a totally peaceful pursuit, we had no idea whether a polar bear could be waiting outside...
