The whole affair looks more and more like an own goal for the chiropracters. Lots of folk have learnt that chiropractic=woo through this case. Simon's 100K is looking like a good investment as he gets international fame through this.

Even if he loses in the UK courts he can take this to the European courts. Also the BCA made a dumb comment on their website about him being malicious, so he can threaten to make a counterclaim whenever he grows weary.

As far as I'm aware, Simon is perfectly healthy. It's just that his questions about those who practice chiropractic and claim to help with disorders like colic and asthma with absolutely no evidence that they could actually treat them, enraged the BCA.

By itself, chiropractic does help with some problems like back and joint pain, but it's useless against other conditions and there's no good evidence to suggest that trying to manipulate the spine will somehow help in conditions that have nothing to do with muscles or bones. Still, there are chiropractors who embrace their pseudoscientific roots and believe that they really can cure most ills with spinal manipulation. Those are the quacks who's Singh's piece called out.

Wow, that's too bad Singh has to fight off bs libel claims plus his ailment.

I'm not too familiar about chiropractic services in general, so I can't say whether some are hoaxers or not.

I can tell you people will believe mystic explanations rather than scientific because to most folks, science is elitist.

You have your work cut out for you Greg!
