<i>"NASA’s bureaucracy won’t allow anymore wishful thinking"</i>

To be fair, that is starting to change a little since the Augustine Panel basically said that if NASA doesn't start partnering up with space tourism companies, the American human spaceflight program is pretty much done for.

And seriously, that's a hell of a scary thing to say. A nation that once walked on the Moon is pretty much done with space travel as far as the government is concerned.

Well, worst case scenario, there's always the military and NASA could be made into a special program under DARPA again...

You're young enough to experience manned spaceflight through the private sector Victor, NASA's bureaucracy won't allow anymore wishful thinking.

Just hang in there.

As a senior in high school, I can't agree enough. Nothing makes me cringe more than than seeing good science trying to choke itself fitting into these skin-tight designer jeans to sell to our MTV brain washed generation.

Good science is good science. It's gonna be interesting if you just tell it like it is. Like you mentioned, ultimately this stems from the fact that society is caring less and less about real science, a societal trend that's been gaining momentum for quite a while now.

Judging from my peers though, it's not that science doesn't appeal to them. However, majority of them care enough only to give a passing glance, then move on with their life. The interest is there, that's for sure, but a deeper change in our society is necessary to spark that interest.

I for one, would love for another Apollo mission. Better yet, mars.
